yup, this year most of my cosplay plans will be recycled from my previous' projects...what i've done before, and what i failed/sucked/did a shitty job previously..LOL!!
gonna recycle most of my costumes, and reuse them.....and that way, i could relive my previous fandoms....
which is a good thing....it'll be like..walking down memory lane....XD

(also, le me is broke...thus the 3R..LOL)

i think the only costume i'm gonna make is for CF2012....not entirely sure where to get that costume yet....but, oh well..it's still a year away..haha..

well, what will your reaction be if i had that as a tagline for my shoots next year???

yeah, i'm trying to pull off a Nana Oosaki cosplay...obviously i wouldn't be as good as the rest out there, but aside from Natsumi Tsujimoto, i've always loved Nana....her strong personality, her rocker attitude, the rebelliousness in her.....and the songs she sings.....she is everything that i've always wanted to be..
(yeah, well..there was a time i aspired to be an artist/singer...just that, this is reality..things don't work out as we always hope for....so i went on to be the next CLOSE enough thing...a Designer...^^)

But as much as i want to be Nana...i completely put off this cosplay plan, until last year....before this i was thinking of doing Ren instead of Nana.....because Ren is a guy...but then..errr....Ren's outfit basically exposed his chest....i'm not that brave to go till that extent yet..LOL....
And after what happened to Ren, i kinda feel for Nana even more.....(pain is not felt by those that have left...it's felt by those who are left behind)

A lot of hardwork MUST BE DONE here though....namely, hitting the gym and giving it a 200% effort..because..NANA, Y YOU SO THIN!?!?!??!?!

if no inspiration, it equals to no Oxygen to Humans......as inspiration is what gets a designer moving....

Ok, story was...
I have no idea which blog i stumbled upon, but then that particular blog (oh...i really cant trace back that blog anymore..i dun remember..LOL.it was random clicking during the weekends...><) mentioned about one of that blogger's acquaintance that she was snobbish or rather in a more local term 'LANSI'....
She said that her 'acquaintance/friend that she thought was a friend' when talking to her during events, didn't talk much, or rather, just smiled to her as if she was a stranger.....

Ok, i know i'm not making much sense here...but i often wondered......do i give off such vibes too?
i mean, if i do, it's heavily misinterpreted as 'LANSI'.....
I'm in no way 'Lansi' at all during events.....it's more that..sometimes when i wear contact lenses, i can't see very well through it...(lol, and this coming from someone who doesn't wear specs at all in daily life)
So when i can't see you, i can't say hi to you.....

AND usually, during events, we all look DIFFERENT..!! (i seriously have no idea how some of you guys out there can recognize ppl simply by looking at the back of that person..LOL..happened to me A LOT OF TIMES....friends were saying ' I SAW YOU FROM THE BACK, BUT YOU WERE WALKING AWAY LIAO'....i'm like..WHOA, you all can recognize cosplayers by looking at their backs?!?!?!? i can't even recognize people even by staring at their faces...!! LOL)
LOL..it'd be weird if i came running to you saying ' HEY!!! blablablablablabla'.....talked a whole lotta crap with you, and then suddenly i realized that that person is the wrong person...LOL!!! (happened before, wanted so badly to dig a hole and hide...LOL)

So yeah, usually i'll Ninja through events....mainly because lately, i couldn't take all the pushing and shoving through the crowds....(old...my dears..i'm old...T^T)
like, for example, AFA.......i went into the event, bought whatever i wanted, and left....because there were too many people around......and there were only 2 of us that time (me and ) so we figured it'd be better if we went around Singapore shopping.....

All in all, i would like to apologize if i happen to walk past you without saying hi...or accidentally ignoring you..LOL..because really....most of the times the contact lenses will get in the way, or wigs will be covering 3/4 of my vision....

So for CF, i'll try my best to not make this mistake........also, do tap me and say hi if i accidentally missed you ya...!! XD
and OMG......next month, at this time....CF WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER ALREADY..!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa......!!!!!!

Now that AFA is finally over, and most of my CF preparations are ALMOST done...(aside from wig styling and MINOR alterations to me costume...=_, i think i'll have time to clear backlogged photos..
It goes back as far as JULY......(wait..or was it June?)...AAAAa....
yup, and my procrastination isn't helping much.....

So yeah...will be uploading backlogged photos these few weeks..(at least until CF....=_
And nope..no pics from AFA from me, because i was too busy buying merchandises...and my hands are full with bags and paper bags...haha...

Yup, so AFA came and went like so freaking fast..!!!
what can i say about this event?
The performances of the regional competition blew me away...i was utterly speechless....in fact, i had goosebumps because of the AWESOMENESS of the skits..
this was especially for Team Malaysia and Team Philippines...
(not that the rest wasn't awesome, but Team Malaysia and Philippines left a lasting impression until the fact that i was actually still talking about it this very morning...)

I'm not being biased here because i'm Malaysian, but frankly speaking....when Team Malaysia performed, it was like watching a musical....I have no knowledge whatsoever on the series they were cosplaying from, but from their performance, it stirred an interest in me to go look for that manga....
KUDOS to you both....Venus and Blur......you guys were EPICLY AWESOME!!! *standing ovation*

Also for Team Phillippines.....i was stunned by their awesome craftmanship on their armory.....and when the Warrior of Light 'limit break-ed' (lol...for the lighting up of the armor), i went 0______0....my jaw fell on the ground...and when the....err....fully armored dude (so sorry...i didn't play Dissidia...><;; my PSP got bricked when i was halfway through) dismantled the weapon into 2....and began their final battle....i...went...speechless...
And how they ended the skit was a real twist...it was one that i really really really loved....
Quoting the fully armored dude ' I would remember your name....if you had one...' *walks away*...
i was practically jumping inside.....(if it weren't for me wearing skirts and high heels)...
TOTALLY FANTASTIC PERFORMANCES FROM YOU GUYS.....*applause and standing ovation*

The rest did totally awesome too, but my top favourite would be from these 2 teams.....

Oh, just in case anyone was wondering....YUP, i was cosplaying for day 02 and day 03, but me and basically ninja-ed through the event...

1st day, we didn't go because well, we just touched down..melatiputih had to work, and she only reached singapore at 11pm that night...=_|

2nd day i was cosplaying Rukawa Kaede from Slamdunk, with as my Haruko...XD
BUT, we spent 80% of our time IN THE EVENT HALL, buying stuffs....we left as early as 3pm..and went shopping in Singapore...hahahaa.....
(and to get to the event venue, we had to brave through a storm..fully costumed...=_||)

3rd day, we reprised our roles as 2 policewomen from You're Under Arrest.....yup, me being Natsumi and her being Miyuki...XD
it was hilarious that a man from payless shoes mistakenly took us for ANA or JAL airline air stewardess...XD XD....

OH, and we were graced with the company of Jamie on day 03...we wanted her to feel what's it like to be part of the cosplaying community, so we had her join us to watch the competititon, and yup..it was great hearing comments from a layman's POV...XD
her comments were epicly hilarious...LOL......

but most of all, i enjoyed a lot...not entirely because of the event, but simply because i manage to go sightseeing, meet up with my CRAZY SIAO CHAR BOR COUSIN, and also finally getting to meet Jamie....and last but not least, hanging out with my ONEESAN, . :: :: ::
Can't wait for next month...it's CF..!!!!!

anyway..
recently, i went around looking at black round earrings......i was never really one to like these types (i usually go for cross designs..because....it's SYMETRICAL!!!!!! --gah...now i'm beginning to sound like Death the Kid)
well, reason why i was searching for a pair of black round earrings, well...because...HE IS WEARING IT..!! HE as in REN JINGUJI!!!
when i finally realize it i went WTF!?!?!?!

SUBCONSCIOUS...YOU BETRAYED ME!!! i not supposed to look at other cosplays before i finish and materialize this year's plan...
in fact, this year's plan is a challenge because i'm not even done with the costumes and props yet.....><;;;;

but yeah...lately i'm a sucker for Ren X Masato...
based on personality wise, i believe Ren would be easier to pull off for me.....(it's almost like cosplaying Micheal Blanc, or Okita Souji..^^)
but i personally like Masato too...because he is a pianist, and he is the main reason i started watching UtaPri...(KENICHI SUZUMURAAA~~~!!!! ) and i told myself, if i manage to play his image song 'Knocking on the Mind' on my piano, then i'll cosplay him.... (but he kinda difficult to pull off....coz he is the quiet and calm type....almost like Saitou...=_
well, after much practicing, i can finally play it, but lol..obviously the song wouldn't be EXACTLY accurate because it's played based on hearing alone....(i even changed the key to the song...LOL.....B major SUCKS!!! it gets so confusing..!!!! and little me only played till grade 6 before i stopped my piano lessons..T^T)
lol..well, one thing though....none of my team mates love these pairing....(WHYYY?~~~~?~?~??~) it's always otoya and tokiya.....=_=

yup....so it's also another subconscious thing that i went searching around for sweaters.....in this immensely hot malaysian weather, why would one need a sweater?!!!?

i've been asked this question again and again....
what sacrifices have i made eversince i started cosplaying?
what are the efforts that i've made for this hobby?
what changes in life have i went through because of this hobby?

WELL, i would say a lot....yup, for all 3 questions...the answer would be A LOT...

first of all..
sacrifices....i wouldn't say sacrifices, but rather i would merge this question and the 3rd one together..
Changes, i would deem this word befitting....

Weight Loss
yup, i went through approximately 20kg of weightloss because after putting on my first costume and well...claiming it to be cosplaying (but a severely failed one), i didn't feel happy with my body weight..
(well, a hefty 85++ kgs for someone my height, i think i qualify to cosplay Gluttony from FMA....but don't misunderstand, i'm not saying that people with big built couldn't cosplay...in fact, some pull off really well...eventhough they are slightly with bigger built ;
it's just mainly me...and with a wake up call from a stranger...(well, more of a kid -that brat-)...that brat, called me 'AUNTIE' when i was only like....less than 20 years old....
that was the wake up call...and then with Cosplaying being my motivation....yup.....losing weight was a fast process..LOL

Efforts
A friend said i'm willing to do a lot for cosplay.....
well, i wouldn't dare compare to all the other sifus out there, but i believe i did have a fair share of efforts done..
Growing nails and bleaching your hair twice one shot, isn't exactly the best experience......^^ (i'm not the type to grow nails.....it breaks damn easily..><;
also, going to gym and slaving yourself away just because you wanna have a toned muscle for cosplays....it takes a whole lot of motivation and effort....
so yeah......i wouldn't say much, but i would say these are only the tip of the iceberg...^^

Changes
life's changes? met a lot of AWESOME people....
people that are inspiring, people that showed me friendship know no boundaries, and i found a sister i never had....all through this hobby...
i would list down the people here, but that would make this journal explode...LOL...
And i've built a whole lotta confidence....i never liked looking at myself in the mirror last time....i never liked anything much about myself last time.....
but not anymore.....through this hobby, i've learnt to love myself.....^^

So, would i quit this hobby soon?
i wouldn't say soon...as i'm still enjoying and having the passion for it.....
And with that, i would say that this hobby has changed me into a better person...

FINALLY, i had one of my dream cosplays come true....
I managed to cosplay NATSUMI TSUJIMOTO from You're Under Arrest..!!!

Omaigod...you don't know how excited i was when i was putting on her costume...XD
yes, it's a skirt, but then somehow i feel so comfortable in this outfit of hers....
much thanks and love to the awesome for the costume....
(yup, she sewed the my natsumi skirt and her own costume all by her self....YOU SEAMSTRESS OF WIN OK!?!?)

It was so much fun cosplaying her...i get to be me..!!! the loud, tomboy-ish me..!!!
and yup, i earned myself the nickname 'Homerun Onna' now....=_=

The initial plan for coming down was to fix my CF costume, but turns out there were some blunder, and that my costume is still somehwere in a warehouse in China..LOL!!!
and then, we thought we could coincide with Sparda's Yu Gi Oh shoot...but then there were some changes to the date, so that shoot never happened....
THEN, i suggested me doing Izaya for our very first night shoot...(well, you have to START experimenting somewhere...LOL)
it's actually an experimental shoot....whereby the entier C2 Studio team worked together to experiment on How A Night Shoot feels like.....
(yup, we've NEVER had any night shoots before......coz we're all noob....LOL!!! the closest we got was my Adam Lambert shoot, where i stood at the balcony of my house....LOL)

ANYWAY~~~~~
back to topic...
AFTER THAT.....one day me and was talking over MSN and thought...HMMmm..why not have this shoot instead? since the costume is almost done....
i was like..WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! NATSUMIIIIIIiiii......!!!!!!!!!
and so...TADAHHHH..~~~!!!

We were graced by the presence of Michiru's colleagues, who were also photography enthusiast...

All in all, the shoot was very much enjoyable.....XD
And our very first Night Shoot, i would say we learnt A WHOLE LOT from each other......

Life has been pretty much hectic this year....From a change of job, promotion and plannings of photoshoots, failed cosplays and brother's wedding...
A lot has happened...

I haven't been to many events this year....in fact, i think the only event i attended this year was C2AGE and that's it...
Now that i looked back at my cosplay log for this year, i cosplayed less than 5 characters this year....and was involved in less than 10 shoots this year..
i remembered back in 2008, i hit an all time high cosplay list...LOL amounting to almost 20 cosplays that year....

Well, life has been catching up and i wasn't as....genki as i was last time...i used to be able to go to back to back shoots and still be energetic/ not look like a zombie....
UGh......AGE WRY YOU DO DIS TO ME?!?!?
GIMME BACK MY YOUTH!!!!!!

I can't wait for when comes down this month....
Originally, it was to 'dissect' my CF costume, but the tailor couldn't make it to send it down last month...
THEN, we thought it could coincide with one of the shoots i was supposed to have, but unfortunately, the shoot got postponed and both of us in the end couldn't attend....(gah..><)
SO, we decided to have some......i would say...'tutorial' sessions whereby she will continue to work on one of my costumes......a plainly simple cosplay, but definitely fun......
Also, it's to catch up because i need my oneesan....lots of things to be shared with her....hahaha...

As for the experimental night shoot....well, i'm not ENTIRELY sure if we could pull it off, but definitely giving it a try...hahhahahaha...
Also....be prepared for some bloodied eye......not gonna say why, but when the pictures come up.....i'm sure there will be some people bleaching their eyes out....hahahaha......

p/s...I FINALLY MANAGE TO COSPLAY ONE OF MY LONG TIME DREAM COSPLAYS.....PRINCE DIAMOND FROM SAILORMOON R...!!!!!
OMAIGOD....sure, he is a useless guy (tell me now, which DUDE in Sailormoon ISNT useless?? LOL) but i still love him...hahaha....

whoa, looking at the amount of dust on my journal, yup..i admit that i've been lazy...XD
A lot of things happened lately, and i haven't been sleeping well..i can sit and easily be dazed for a couple of minutes...or i could just sleep at a traffic light junction (no srsly, i've done that before....AFTER the hakuouki shoot, i shut my eye for 15 secs or so at a traffic light.....)
WHY HAVEN'T I SLELPT WELL?? well....no thanks to my brother.....that idiot is making me product an animation for his wedding in less than 30 days....i'm like WTF?!?!!?
it's like college all over again......=_=

and with a new KICKASS machine i just bought, i can't say no to him......(well, mainly because he sponsored me some parts of the desktop)
SO ARGH...!!!! *pulls hair out*

ANYWAY~~~
all 'fan-sei-yan' (direct translation : FUSS DIE ME) things aside, we've agreed to have a night experimental shoot when we're a bit...free-er...
since almost everyone in the team started their semesters, and me being briefly promoted to senior level (YAY!), there has been lots of things that made us UNABLE to execute this...experiment of ours..

- short of manpower at her workplace.....and she is oh-so-far north...(WRY YOU NO STAY HERE?!?!?! T^T)
- starting her final semester in Sept (which mean the FINAL BOSS AKA THESIS is approaching...remember to save at save point....Limit Break satu kali habis....LOL)
Xanthe & Elle - Elder Yeoh is working and Yeoh Jr is having her SPM this year...so no more main main.......T^T
relyss - Also starting her semester soon.....T^T
michiru - apparently her new work place doesn't allow people to apply leave for the first year......and it's kinda crucial to her now since it's her probation period...

So yeah..we're all getting on with lives, and here i am.....blogging away here...LOL...
(need to take time off from work too aite?)

So will come down in Sept to dissect my costume.......and take measurements for one of my other costume she is making for me...XD (she is SEAMSTRESS OF WIN!!) hopefully after that i can get the kickstart to SERIOUSLY try to complete my prop...procrastinated since april...LOL!! *dies*

ohh..on a random note.....

After almost 8 months of not having an official photoshoot, finally i participated in one as a cosplayer last Sunday....

Getting used to the heat was well....sucky...i kinda forgotten how TERRIBLE it was to wear long sleeve under the blazing hot sun in this country.....
But anyways...it was really really a fun experience..

It was my first time shooting there, and when the team arrived, i was like
' HOLY COW WHY THE HECK SO MANNY PPL!?!?!?! SUNDAY MORNING WEI..!! GO BACK HOME AND SLEEP!!! DUN EAT TAU FU FAR LIAO!!!!'


So i immediately called hexlord-sama and asked him...'EHHH...iz it normal ka?? Sunday morning wei...so many ppl jogging and eating tau fu far wan!?!??!'
LOL....

Turns out, i drove to the MAIN entrance, which is why there were sooooooooooooooooo many ppl...
So we followed the directions given by THE BOSS and went and pusing pusing....in the end we found the correct entrance, and MAN that cut short the entire journey BY SO DAMN MUCH!!
the first time we went in throught the main entrance, we had to walk so damn much, just to reach that park....=_||

And on the way there there were so many PHOTOGS around..i think they kinda have their....err....photography club thingamajingy.....

As much as we faced obstacles that day, i really enjoyed it really really much...

Working with and was really an eye opener....learnt so much from both of them...
and the rest of the team was equally awesome as well...

Xanthe came with all those colourful drinks....and she also had NEN NEN..!! XD XD (ok.....that's how i address 'Milk'....i know it's childish, it's just how i call it..LOL)
Many thanks to for supporting me through the entire photoshoot.......was really feeling really under-confident because of how i lost touch with this hobby....Work ate up my life....

after that, we went to this....sewing shop aka 'singing shop' in Taipan to look for stuffs for my upcoming cosplay plans..but wahpiang eh....CANOT FIND THOSE BLARDY DIAMONDS..!!! (looks like i have to dissect my Sheryl's earrings liao....T^T)
Oh well, still we had a good laugh in the car before sending Relyss back.....

In less than 6 hours i'll be flying off to JAYBEE~~~~
well, since i didn't manage to go down to Singapore last week for cosfest, i figured..oh well....i can go down this week instead..

Well, a lot has happened in the past few months, so i thought why not take this chance to go down for a short weekend (where i can end up being bankrupt..LOL)

it all started with a simple ' I WANNA GO SINGAPORE!!!' in front of 2 of my close colleagues...then who knows? they coincidentally had road shows in JB till friday (today) and one of my colleague's home town is in JB...so accomodation settled...!!!!
and transportation back is ALSO SETTLED!!! XD XD

Where is nice to go in Singapore?
i'll be going down solely for SHOPPING!! (though, i know exchange rate would most probably kill me in the end)
Sad as it may be, it's only a 1 day trip....
so hopefully i'll be able to go to Bugis Street as well as the Marina Bay..

i don't know what's with my luck and computers...
eversince my laptop died on me a last year.....i've had shitty luck with hand-me-down computers...

But i managed to pull through for 6 months with my bro's computer (after he leveled up his machine, he passed his...err..not-so-AWESOME machine to me...)
And last night, after a tiring and exhausting session in gym, i came back home, wanting to look through some cosfest pics and a little FB...
i pressed the button.....once, twice, thrice....and there were no reactions from the machine..

i immediately went NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(like literally...and started cursing..you know..the usual !@#@$#^!$#!@#$^$@#&^*)

oh well..maybe it's God's signal....by killing off my machine, maybe he meant it as ' GO GET YOUR OWN MACHINE NOW...GOSH HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO PROCRASTINATE?!?!??!'

which...got me thinking....i've been aiming at the iMAC since i don't remember when....
but then i would have to go....sell my butt or sumthing to get the iMac..(it's expensive ya know?!!?!!?)
then i considered a customized desktop...
saw my younger bro's one...not too shabby, in fact...it's kinda cool....and now that i've already gotten myself a 23" monitor......it'd go to waste if i bought the iMAC...

So....my budget for the customized desktop is RM2K++ (max approximately RM2500)
and the imac? well...it's gonna cost me close to RM7K after adding the specs....

What's your say?
